This week we have hybrid trap artist VRG.

With hundreds of thousands of streams and support from artists like Excision, Shaquil O’neal and SayMyName you would think it has been easy for someone like VRG but that couldn’t be further from the truth. 

VRG came from a family of immigrants that moved here from Mexico so that they could create a better life for themselves and their family. When they moved here they ended up in a small town that only has 3000 people and for those of you who have never lived in a small town, there are a lot of things that are different. 

Like having to drive 2 hours to catch a flight and not having access to a strong internet connection which of course makes a career in music damn near impossible, and as you’ll hear in our conversation, one of the main contributing factors to why he was stuck at 4 soundcloud followers for the first 4 entire years of his project.
