Building a career in music takes a lot of hard work and long hours for years before you ever start to see any kind of success and it is so easy to ignore things like friends, family, hobbies outside of work, and even things like remembering to eat (yes, I am guilty of this one).
But today we have Sully who recently just put out his debut album “Digital Underground” that speaks directly about this topic. Sully says “throughout my adult life, I've struggled, I've struggled with balance. I've lost so many hours where I could have been reconnecting with a friend, but instead I was trapped in front of a computer screen trying to create music that I love. But that's a good thing. I get to express myself, play amazing shows, meet fans, create memories.
However, a part of me feels unfulfilled because I forget to pause and appreciate the most fundamental things in my life. The Digital Underground represents the void in my life and the balance that I want to get better at controlling. It's
expressed in every note, lyric, and sound that I put into the album.”
Today we talk all about this new album and his very first headline tour that is accompanying it.
Thank you so much, enjoy the episode!
